one of my lesser-polished hobbies is making music. i've been doing it for more than 5 years now, though i'd still call myself a total amateur. you can usually find my songs on soundcloud, and buy my OST releases on bandcamp.
i've made an absolute fuckton of music over the years, more than I would even want to display here. However I'd like to do my past self a favor and show a lot of songs that were either buried in my old blogs or never posted anywhere... I think I was always embarrassed to be too proud of my music, so I just have hundreds of files on my hard drive no one cares about but me. Take a listen, won't you?

music i made in collaboration for the game Glow of Honeydew. It was my first time composing for another creator's project and feeling my music contribute to the mood of the story was very satisfying. I purposefully made the tracks kind of dreamlike, but also discordant at times, similar to the protagonist's ways of thinking. Love Song is one of the first tracks I made, and it's kind of the best at cementing this specific feeling. For a lot of the songs I played some of the notes on my keyboard without quantizing them to make things feel imprecise, or even stressful. It kind of changes depending on the song. Regardless, I am pleased with the result.

A song made for my short game 'through the gaps between my fingers'. It's just mindless improvisation really, and the version you hear in-game is slowed down in the engine itself.
a few songs made for my game project 'Beneath the Teal Symphony' (W.I.P. at time of writing). I'm going for a dreamy improvisation vibe, but of course i love patterns so i cannot fully escape them...
quick and dirty tracks made for Lovely Lonely Apparition. I really love these, the droney synths and looping background scales are very pleasing to me. The names of the tracks are associated to the characters i thought about when making them, or scenes i thought they'd end up in. As such, some of the names are a little inaccurate now to how they actually ended up being used.
My favorite track is probably the normal-speed version of Periwinkle, which is a little bit of a shame because it got replaced by another song I made eons ago. It just felt right for the scene, and it still does, but part of me wonders if I should have found another place for the song to call home. The slowed down version still makes an appearance, however. I also really love Lavender, which is similarly high-energy. I also really enjoy Amaranth for its improvisation, i think it turned out really nice for a song I kind of just threw together with a synth in Soundtrap.

two songs made for ophanimkei's Ommatophilia, an rpgmaker horror game.
a song I was going to put in my tiny playable poem project, tiny circumstance... But for some reason I decided not to do it. I guess i thought it was grating to listen to this while reading it.

i think most of these songs are terrible. there's actually way more of them, but i could only bear showing so much old art. I had a tendency to make songs much too long, too repetitive, etc.
that said, this is when i first started making music, so I suppose I can't be too harsh on myself. You'll notice some of the tracks are a bit crunchier, with some background hum. These songs were created on my 3DS and simply recorded back onto my computer later. The effect it produces is kind of neat, though. I hope someone else can enjoy this messy past.
